Double Down your Investment in the People that Invest in You

Don’t give your time to people who don’t value and respect you.

Do you have people in your life who consistently break promises to you? What about people who only reach out to you when they need someone?   I am sure you have a few people who almost never reply to phone calls, texts, or emails.  Stop giving them you’re time!

I am not suggesting that you cut all the selfish people out of your life.  In almost all relationships of any type, one person gives more effort.  In fact, if you really value being a good friend, you’re probably giving more in most your relationships that you receive. However, if there are people that are making little effort, and that lack of effort is a sign of a lack of respect and value for you, you need to limit the time you give to those people. Often, those people are so selfish and living a self-centered life that they don’t even realize how bad of a friend they are being. Those people dill drain you, cause you stress, and offer you no real benefit as a friend.  Maybe one day they’ll turn it around and be a better friend, a better human being, but for now, limit the time you give to them.

Who are the people that are there for you?  If something bad happened to you right now, who could you reach out to and be 100% certain they’d give you their time, even if their time is limited?  Invest in those people.   Maybe you know 1,000 people like that.  Maybe you know just one person like that.  Whoever those people are in your life, that is who you should journey through life with.

  1. I’m impressed, I must say. Actually rarely do I encounter a weblog that’s both educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you’ve gotten hit the nail on the head. Your concept is outstanding; the difficulty is something that not sufficient persons are speaking intelligently about. I’m very glad that I stumbled throughout this in my search for one thing relating to this.
