We All Die Too Soon: Farewell, Kobe Bryant

I cried.

The death of Kobe Bryant shocked and saddened me unlike any other celebrity death in my lifetime.  Perhaps it was because his daughter was with him and I can’t help but think of those finals moments he must have had, helpless to save his daughter, knowing his fate.  Perhaps it is because of the many qualities of his that I admired.  Perhaps it is that it reminds of of the reality that my and your farewell is coming one day too.

I posted the below thought to my social media channels, and I thought it worth posting here as a blog.

Farewell,

We all die too soon.

Whether we die tomorrow or live until we are 100, there just isn’t enough time in our lives.

There isn’t enough time to do all the things we want to do. There isn’t enough time to say all we want to say. There isn’t enough time to give all the love we have to give.

The world will say farewell to us soon too.

So…

Give all of yourself to this world, every day.

Give all of yourself to every relationship.

Say the things that are still unsaid.

Do the things that are still undone.

And above all, love, love and love and LOVE everyone.

Farewell, Kobe.
We will all be joining you soon.
